Travel to Barbados

Many years ago Barbados Island was formed in a Caribbean Sea by volcanic activity. It is a coral island with fine white sand beaches stretching along a blue-green sea on the West Coast and coral reefs offering excellent snorkeling and Scuba Diving. Barbados also offers an interesting distribution of flora and fauna along with rolling hills and lots of deep ridges and gullies. One of the purest drinking water supplies in the world are provided in an immense array of caves and underground lakes within the Barbados coral core.

Barbados is well developed and offers a wide range of attractions such as sightseeing, wildlife reserves, shopping districts, helicopter rides, golf, festivals, cave exploration and other. If you like going out late in the evening, and enjoy the festive night-life, you will find it in such main tourist areas as the Saint Lawrence Gap.

Every year Barbados attracts lots of tourists to its main largest carnival - Crop Over festival. The festival holds a lot of events, musical competitions and other traditional activities. The Barbadian King and Queen of the crop are crowned for harvesting the most sugarcane.

The climate in Barbados is moderate tropical. Wet season is in June - November, and a drier season is during December - May. The worst region's tropical storms and hurricanes during the rainy season, usually bypasses Barbados, as it is further to the East of Atlantic Ocean and is just outside main hurricane strike zone.

Local people, called Bajans, are very warm and friendly. They will always meet you with a sincere smile, ready to help and assist in any situation, making you feel welcome and special in the Caribbean, always willing to come back year after year.
